Acrylic Painting 1

Fridays
4:30pm - 5:30pm

In this course we will be exploring color theory, techniques, mediums, and styles. This course will include both representational and abstract painting projects, as well as a variety of materials. Through the use of paint, observation, and art history, students will gain a better understanding before approaching their canvases. This course is going to be a unique opportunity for our young artists to strengthen their painting skills, as well as enhance the way they observe the world God has given us to explore. The Acrylic Painting 1 class is offered to students in grades 4th through 7th.

Acrylic Painting 2

Fridays
3:30pm - 4:30pm

This class will help students discover their creativity, individuality and unique style. Students will begin to work toward building an original body of work that can be used as a portfolio that will include both paintings and drawings. All supplies are included. The Acrylic Painting 2 class is offered to students in grades 8th through 12th.

Acting 1

Mondays
4:30pm - 5:30pm

This class emphasizes ensemble-building as well as personal growth, imaginative play, expanding creativity, strengthening self-confidence and self-discipline, memorization techniques, cultivating personal responsibility, and strategies for successful collaboration. Students will learn and gain acting experience through games, technique, and in-class performance. Course content may include some memorization of short scenes and monologues. The Acting 1 class is offered to students in grades 4th - 7th.

Acting 2

This class will give students the ability to visually communicate their own thoughts and ideas as well as understand the design and beauty of the world around them. Students will create a variety of projects that will help them understand the world of design such as logos, words, prints, illustrations, graphics, and more. All supplies are included. The Design 1 class is offered to students in grades 4th through 7th.

Design 2

This class will guide students in creating a portfolio of work that showcases their own visual journey of self-expression and understanding the world around them. All supplies are included. The Drawing 1 class is offered for students in grades 4th through 7th.

Homeschool Collage Art

Thursdays
1:30pm - 2:30pm

In our collage course we will be discussing and executing the fundamentals of collage art. Through assembling different colors, textures, shapes, and materials students will explore the creation of a new concept out of preexisting objects and images. Some of these techniques will include the use of: magazines, transparencies, manipulated paper, drawings/sketches, stamps, fabric, photographs, personal items and more! Each week students will be filling pages of their sketchbooks (provided by IBAA) to ultimately create an array of finished collage works that can continue being built upon once our course has come to an end. This Collage Art class is offered to students of every grade!

Homeschool Dramatic Arts 1

Mondays

In this Dramatic Arts class, students will explore various performance techniques to help them become well rounded performers. Students will learn how to effectively use their breath, body and their voice to communicate and to tell a story. This class emphasizes both group and individual growth and development through group exercises and scenes and through individual monologue and/or song performance. The Dramatic Arts 1 class is offered to students in grades 1st through 5th.

This course will be a unique opportunity for our young artists to strengthen their painting skills, as well as enhance the way they observe the world God has given us to explore. The Painting class is open to all age ranges. All supplies are included.

The Visual Arts course will equip students to interact with the world with an understanding of beauty and truth. This course will give students an enriching experience by allowing them to explore a breadth of visual art mediums inside and outside of the classroom. Students will receive the opportunity to discover and strengthen their skills in the visual art categories of painting, drawing, design, mixed media, and more. This Visual Arts 1 class is offered to students in grade 1 through 5.

Musical Theatre 1

Fridays
4:30pm - 5:30pm

In this class, students will explore various singing, acting and dancing techniques as well as have the opportunity to put them all together and become well rounded performers. In addition to musical theatre fundamentals, students will be able to practice teamwork, speaking in front of an audience, listening as well as gain confidence, imagination and creativity, through in-class exercises and performance! The Musical Theatre 1 class is offered for students in grades 4th through 7th with little to no theatre experience.

Musical Theatre 2

Photography 1

Through this class, students will receive the foundational knowledge needed to take photographs on any device from smartphones to digital cameras. Students will have opportunities to not only develop their skills to showcase a series of work, but also to train their eye to see the world through new lenses of beauty and wonder. Feel free to bring your own digital camera or smartphone for this class. If you don’t own one but would still love to sign up, let us know! The Photography 1 class is offered to students in grades 4th through 7th.

Photoshop

Thursdays
3:30pm - 5:30pm

Students will learn more advanced concepts of great design and typography while using the professional-grade Adobe Photoshop software to create digital drawings, logos, photo manipulation and retouching, and more. No previous experience with graphic design or specific design applications is required. This Photoshop class is offered to students in grades 7th through 12th.

Showcase Workshop

Thursdays
4:30pm - 6:30pm

Various techniques from other classes will be further explored and students will have the opportunity to put their new skills to use. In this showcase workshop, students will receive instruction and gain performance experience as they prepare and rehearse for an ensemble production to be performed in December. This Showcase Workshop is open to students in grades 4th through 12th.

Special Effects Makeup

Thursdays
3:30pm - 4:30pm

In this course we will be exploring different techniques within the realm of special effects make up. Through the use of unique materials, color palettes, textures, and patterns the students will gain knowledge and experience in transforming the human bodies into a beautiful work of art. Our exploration will include a large variety of styles; cuts, bruises and wounds, anywhere to wrinkles and burns. This is a beginning level course that welcomes all levels of experience and interests. Within this class our goal is to ultimately learn how to connect the performers to their roles with the use of make up...and of course, having a ton of fun! This SFX Makeup class is offered for students in grades 5th through 12th.

Watercolor Painting
